I am a male, 46 and have worn contacts in the past for nearsightedness. However, my eyes couldn't handle the contacts for more than 2-3 days at a time. So, I reluctantly switched back to eye glasses. He suggested that I consider Monovision. I tried out Monovision with contacts for a few days w/o problems. Dr. Dougherty was extremely kind and knowledgeable. He explained how he has the most advanced equipment annd that he would use 2 different lasers on my eyes since "one size does not fit all". So, I had LASIK done and would definitely recommend Lasik and Dr. Dougherty. He was well worth the extra $$$ he cost me since safety/peace of mind were my top concerns
