Buying a hat!

I don't think I will ever walk into this place again! It was highly recommended to me, but I don't see why anyone would recommend them. I walked in with three clear goals and a picture of a haircut that I thought might work, but I don't think that the first stylist was really listening to me. The first version of the haircut wasn't quite like the picture or really what I might have liked, and she used way too much junk in my hair. One of my goals was for an easy hairstyle to maintain, and this was my third haircut ever! What part of that makes a hair stylist think that their client has the time or knowledge for juggling 3-4 styling products and a $100 flat iron? One of my other goals was for a haircut that would help me look my age (I'm 28, but look ~21 and it is very frustrating in professional settings), but the stylists kept talking about "cute an sassy" hairdos. I could care less about cute and sassy; I requested professional! That day at work, the main response I got was "...it's...cute..." and "I thought you wanted to look your age?"

I ended up going in the next day to have it fixed, but the second stylist was also on a "cute and sassy" kick and put more crap in my hair. It looked horrid and one of the main professors I worked with commented that I needed to get it redone. After washing it several times to get all of the crap out of it, and having a friend trim it a bit, it looks better. It's still a rather childish/boyish haircut, but they cut it so short that there isn't much else that can be done with it.

Overall, this was a very traumatic experience for me and it will now take me months to grow it out to where I might be able to try for a professional haircut again. That is if I feel comfortable letting someone ever touch my hair again. I'm tempted to just go it out long again and put it back in a ponytail. In the meantime, I'm going to be investing in a hat.
