I went into Matisoff's on October 3rd, 2011 in order to inquire about its ring selections. Upon walking in the door, my fiance and I were treated with little courtesy. We were immediately disappointed with the lack of service that we received. I asked to look at a specific ring designer, but this individual refused to show me the designer until I told him exactly what I was shopping for. He treated me as though he did not trust my judgement.I acquiesced and decided to give him the details of my desired selection. I was specific and accurate with my information, as I have been searching for this specific ring for months-knowing the size, ring model number, dimensions, and properties of this ring. He was specific to correct me in every area that I was "wrong" in order to "educate" me in front of my fiance (When I say educate, I do not mean that he actually taught me anything specific. Instead, I mean that he "taught" me information which was completely incorrect). By this point, I was slightly annoyed, but decided to continue to look over the selection so as to see if the jeweler could still acquire me a better deal than those in the area. As I tried on one specific ring, the jeweler immediately insulted my hand size. This kept me from seeking to try on any others. We then asked to look over the magazine in order to see what we could order to the specific location. The sales associate turned the page to the cheapest rings in the magazine and proceeded to show us rings which he felt were stereotypical to those our age: $50.00 and under. He then included a nice fact that people "like us" like to get rings engraved as inside well. This experience was extremely insulting. I had enough cash in my back pocket in order to purchase a ring at Matisoffs (Art Carved 11-WV7255 white gold) but was perturbed with the service we received. After this encounter, my fiance and I decided to leave and take our business elsewhere.
