Provided by YPmobileWell, my mother received a Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) from this hospital. Mind you, the right side of her heart is the worst. So they placed the pump. She stayed there about 3 to 4 more months after surgery. Then they decide to throw her in a nursing home where they know nothing about LVAD patients. Instead of doctors at UT doing their research as doctors, they were more hung up on my mothers emotional distress, and mental issues. These are doctors, aren't they supposed to research?? I just feel like they placed this pump in my mothers heart, then said ok we're done, bye! Oh, your mother can't get up, or walk, well we'll just throw her in a nursing home and just forget about this patient. Maybe this patient was too complex for doctors to deal with. I asked them several times, should I take her to Baylor heart? They simply said that Baylor would not accept my mother because UT put the pump in. So now I'm like well, who will be willing to help? If something happens to my mother, UT ST. Paul hospital would be the blame because they didn't event have the decency or professionalism to check on a patient with mental disabilities. Oh yea, they had a Nurse practitioner covering the case. That's like sending the weather man to give breaking news. These people have made my family's life HELL. Think they give a crap. Heck no!!
