There are bad roofers, there are good roofers, there are great roofers & then there are a few excellent roofers, &, among the few excellent roofers, there is Allied Roofing & Sheet Metal, Inc. My husband & I live in Oakland Park, Tamarac Hills & had our shingle roof replaced by Allied Roofing in 2016. We cannot express how happy we were with the quality of their work. There on-site workers were excellent, conducted themselves professionally & did a great preparation & wonderful clean up at the conclusion of the job. You would never had known they were ever there. Then in March of 2019, due to our new insurance company’s demand, we had to have our flat roof replaced. So, we called upon Allied Roofing. We told them that the replacement of our flat roof was mandated by our insurance company. Robert & his team performed an inspection of our flat roof & were in agreement that our flat roof had an additional 5 plus years of service, they issued us a recertification to support their findings. We provided this to our insurance company, however, they rejected & we were told we needed to have the roof replaced immediately or our insurance coverage would be cancelled. We advised Allied of the insurance company’s response and requested they provide us with a quote as soon as possible. Fast forwarding, we selected Allied Roofing to replace our flat roof & once again they did an excellent job. They covered our pool and patio furniture, moved all potted plants away from the job area to prevent them from being damaged & maintained the same attitude and professionalism as they did replacing our shingle roof. Upon completion, they had removed all debris and moved everything back to its original location, leaving our entire yard spotless from debris and in great appearance.
My husband & I highly recommend Allied Roofing & Sheet Metal, Inc. for your roofing needs. They have a great internal & external support team & every one of them will treat you like family.

From start to finish, this company couldn't have been more thorough or professional. We replaced our existing tile roof with a metal roof because we knew that this type of roof would last a long time and could weather hurricane force winds. We made an appointment to have someone come out from Allied Roofing to give us an estimate. They were on time, explained the process, took pictures and within two days we had an estimate. After signing the contract, we were given written instructions on what to expect time-wise. The permit was obtained quickly and we were notified every day about what was to take place with the reroofing process. I was even given a tour of the plant where the metal roof was being made! The workers were tidy and cleaned up after the messy job of removing the old roof and placing the new metal roof on. We were notified of any wood that needed replacement and all finishing touches were completed efficiently. The quality of the workmanship and the materials is superb! All of the personnel at this company were professional and friendly and always willing to accommodate my schedule.

Thank you all, Troy, Ted, Victor, Wendy, Giselle and all those who made this beautiful roof on our house possible.

Sincerely,

Michael and Barbara Callahan

Allied Roofing replaced our roof after Hurricane damage. Their price was in line with other quotes we received. Their planning and quality of work was excellent. Their communication throughout the entire process was impressive. My project manager was in contact with me everyday with updates and schedules. We are very happy with the finished product.

Allied Roofing did a superior job repairing our roof leaks.
They are punctual, professional, and their prices are always within reason for the sevices provided. We have used them for years to help us with our aging roof and will definitely be having them help us with our new roof in the next year!

The team assigned to my job were absolutely wonderful. They took the time necessary to prep and cover my pool and other patio furniture from the debris that would come off of the roof during the pressure washing process. Upon completing the job, they completely pressure washed my complete patio ensuring not only my patio was cleared of all debris, but the even washed all patio furniture. I was extremely pleased and happy with the entire job from start to finish. Allied also replaced my shingle roof mid last year and did a great job all the way through for that job also. I would strongly recommend Allied Roofing and Sheet Metal, Inc. for all your roof repairs and/or replacement. My personal thanks to Robert for setting this all up for me from beginning to ending.

Its not often that one finds themselves in position to sit down and write a rave review these days.

I'm thrilled to say that I am today in the place to do so.

I hired Allied Roofing to replace my 30yr old tile roof which had been repaired three times before, twice in the same place. At some point you have to go for it but not first without doing some homework.

Living in Florida I realized we are governed by serious building codes. This allowed me to ask what I thought were the right question to those that submitted bids. Allied was quick to answer correctly and offer upgrades that appealed to me.

With that I signed with just a 5% deposit and waited for their scheduling dept to contact me. They notified me the day before that a dumpster would be placed in the driveway within 24 hrs (weather permiting) The next morning a crew, dumpster and a job supervisor arrived. My home was protected with plywood by the garage door, windows and my pavers were covered.

The work began and i left for my workday.....

I returned to find no debris in the grass, driveway or back patio. It was like they weren't even there.. Except when you looked up. Tiles were gone along with 70% of the rest of my roof.

I was told that it may take two days to remove the old roof but that i should expect to be ready for tile installation within three to four days. They returned the next day to finish the installation of the 30lb. Again I must say when they left that day my property was left in a manner that would have never represented that work was being done. The city was called out for inspection the next day and the following day the next phase started off with the kettle and mopping of the second layer of my new roof.

At this point I noted some of the asphalt had dripped down some of the metal edges. I notified Allied and spoke to Kamy who told me that I would be contacted by someone who would rectify the situation within a short amount of time I was contacted by a gentlemen named Marcin who stated that someone would be by to clean the metal and make sure there wasn't anything else out of sorts.

The only sad part of the whole project was that the amount of wood needing to be replaced out was over my allowed amount in the contract. Of course I questioned this and was produced digital photos that showed how much was actually replaced. In after viewing the pictures I felt comfortable knowing that I was now in a structurally safe home that should endure most of what nature may throw at it.

i did have to wait for the tile to be delivered to finish up the job but I didn't have a dumpster left in my yard. We were able to park our vechicles in the driveway. The rest of the work was completed without incident and I would gladly recommend Allied Roofing to my family and friends.

Sincerly

Like a bad dream...

Originally, I got 4 estimates, and hired Allied because they gave the second lowest quote, and a good sales pitch. Researched BBB, FL. Contractor’s Licensing, WC & liability insurance coverage - no problems, but it was all downhill from there…

First, they damaged screens over my deck, then the wood frame on all 3 of my skylights showed seams thru the plaster. They repaired these.

Next, I noted that the whole house shook while they were working, and I could hear the plumbing rattling inside the wall. They refused any responsibility. (I have since sprung a leak).

Then, I got a call saying I needed an $800 stucco repair because they found the flashing had come away from the wall, held water and saturated the stucco, which I authorized. An engineer later issued a report to my insurance company saying the stucco damage was caused by Allied removing the flashing. (They billed $850 for the stucco, which the adjustor had told me was excessive for the amount of work needed).

In fact, I got 2 interim invoices that were incorrect and had to be rebilled.

The final invoice came out 40% over estimate! Stucco + additional wood I was never told about (they could not produce receipts). I refused to pay; they cancelled my roof warranty and plan to file a lien against me.

IN ANSWER TO THEIR RESPONSE BELOW:

1) I offered to settle for an amount equal to the highest bid I had received, when I got the final invoice- they refused. Recently they wanted to accept & I have refused.

2) Outright lie- the Office Mgr sent the Project Mgr, Enrique to examine all the damage, including listening to the pipes before any of the repairs were made to skylights and screen.

3) I note that they did not respond to the engineer's report, over-billing for the stucco, or inability to produce receipts for the the wood I was billed for.

4) The roofer is not the only one attempting to get thru this tough economy- I am a retiree on a fixed income.

5) I agree with the lady below- why are all the good reviews posted within days of each other, and the bad ones are all recent?

Yes, it is an old house, but I stand by all allegations in my complaint.

Business Response01/24/2011

It is very unfortunate, that in these tough economic times, a consumer would not only refuse to pay, but also attempt to slander a company by posting a false, negative review. Every effort has been made to accommodate CatherineCa, going above and beyond our obligations, to resolve this matter successfully. Please read the response to this review carefully, and judge for yourself if Allied Roofing is a negligent contractor, or if CatherineCa just simply refuses to pay the amount owed for services rendered. In her opening statement, CatherineCa states, “I Researched BBB, FL. Contractor’s Licensing, WC & liability insurance coverage - no problems”. A company that has been in business for 20 years, would have less than an A+ rating with the BBB if they did not go above and beyond their scope of work every day to satisfy each and every customer, and she reiterates this fact perfectly by stating: “they damaged screens over my deck, then the wood frame on all 3 of my skylights showed seams thru the plaster. They repaired these.” THEY REPAIRED THESE. According to the terms of our contract: Owner shall hold Allied, harmless for … property damage to … screening, … either before, during or after said work, due to leakage or otherwise. This is just one example of Allied going above and beyond to satisfy this customer. She then goes on to state, “I noted that the whole house shook while they were working, and I could hear the plumbing rattling inside the wall. They refused any responsibility. (I have since sprung a leak).” Again, our contract states: Owner shall hold Allied, harmless for … property damage to … walls, … fixtures … either before, during or after said work, due to leakage or otherwise. Replacing a roof is major construction. She also fails to mention that her house was built in 1983, which would make the pipes 27 years old, and possibly fragile. (Please note, the “damage” or leaking pipes were not mentioned to Allied until after our request for final payment.) “I needed an $800 stucco repair … which I authorized.” CatherineCa was told by Allied that she could get additional estimates for the stucco repair, and could use any contractor she chose to do the necessary work. She approved, and chose Allied. The final statement is where the truth of the matter lies: “The final invoice came out 40% over estimate! Stucco + additional wood I was never told about (they could not produce receipts). I refused to pay; they cancelled my roof warranty and plan to file a lien against me.” CatherineCa was told about the additional wood, the cost involved, and was given this cost in writing. She approved by signing the contract. It is not customary for a contractor to provide receipts for materials when a specific price has been agreed upon. According to our contract: Unless otherwise noted … the only woodwork to be done is sheathing, fascia (without any attachments, i.e., screens, gutters etc.) and rafter reinforcement. No soffit work, trim work, masonry work or painting will be done unless specified on … If any other work is needed, there will be a separate charge. Allied Roofing and Sheet Metal, Inc. prides itself on exceptional customer service, and goes above and beyond to insure that the consumer is more than satisfied on every job, and this would include CatherineCa. Bad publicity is the quickest way to put a business in bankruptcy, as is the refusal to pay. In this tough economy, we would hope that our efforts to satisfy CatherineCa are recognized, and that future consumers will read this response, and take into account CatherineCa is refusing to pay for the services rendered, and has no justification in posting a negative review.

Hmmm

Why are all the glowing reviews dated within days of each other while the only review outside of this very narrow range is a very poor review? I put my weight on the one review that's not too good.

They don't call back

I've called them trying to get a quote for a metal reroof. Sent an email and left messages at the office and on the cell phone over a week and a half period. I understand if they are busy because of recent heavy rains but just make a call. They get no business from me.

Reroof

In September of 2009, I decided to have a reroof performed on a single family home. After obtaining estimates from over 50 roofing companies in South Florida, I narrowed my list of potential roofers down to 3. I ultimately selected Allied Roofing &Sheet Metal due to (1) the professional estimate package that I received (including a typed contract proposal, copies of licenses and insurance, and recommendation letters from previous customers); (2) years of experience; (3) contract price; and (4) the responsiveness, professionalism, and courtesy of their salesperson (Danny Whitlock) in answering my questions during the estimate process. Prior to signing a contract, the salesperson provided tile samples so that my wife could select a tile manufacturer, tile style, and color. During the reroof process, the crew worked neatly and my Roofing Advisor and Allied’s Administrative Assistant (Ryanne) gave me status updates throughout the project. To date, Allied Roofing & Sheet Metal has performed the reroof work in accordance with our contract. I can recommend Allied Roofing & Sheet Metal based on the price and customer service provided.

Who are you gonna call!

Allied Roofing replaced my tile roof in 9/2009. In South Florida, sometimes it is difficult to find quality work at a great price. The work process was explained in terms a novice understands. The crews removed and replaced the tile roof without any damage to pool screens, structure and landscaping. Cleanup was excellent. I am confident I will not encounter roof leaks within a year or two like other people I know who had roofs replace. The old saying, "you get what you pay for" is not always true, you need to look at the value you receive for what you pay.

Great company

I recently had my roof replaced by Allied. Their service was exceptional. They were courteous, professional and highly responsive to my questions and concerns. This was an expensive and complex residential job with many details needing to be addressed. I was very pleased with the way they did business and would recommend them to anyone.

new roof

We just got a new tile roof on our house. It wasn't an easy decision to choose a right company but since my husband retired last year, he spends time looking in the magazines for some coupons or checking the websites.

He called four different places for estimates and Allied Roofing was one of them. From the very beginning when the roofing advisor came to measure our roof, he took his time explaining to us what should be done and he even didn't push us to make any decision right away like most sales people do. When we called again with a question regarding the roof replacement, the office stuff was so pleasant. It took us a week to make a decision. and today I know that we made a great choice. The advisor was always on time. The men from a roofing crew were so professional. First they knock at the door to report for duty and every time we asked something, they had no problem to show us or explain anything. My husband got so impress when the roofer who came inside our home to check for the leeks, was actually wearing a protection on his boots. The crew cleaned around the house all debris, so we didn't have to worry. The inspector passed all inspections without any problems. And finally we got a new roof. It looks so beautiful.

Yes, we would definitely recommend Allied Roofing and Sheet Metal as a roofing company, because of their professionalism, dependability, cleanliness and dedication to what they do. It was a pleasure to look at them when they were working. Now our neighbors can't stop looking at our roof.
