- General Info
- GAR Services is a service division of the Glendale Association for the Retarded. The organization was founded in 1954 and is headquartered in Glendale, Calif. It offers services for the developmentally disabled. It serves more than 60 adults with vocational trainings, job placements, adult living skills instructions, community integration programs, recreational activities and residential placements. The organization s GAR Services provides clients with work opportunities in the areas of mailings, assembly, recycling, collating and packaging. In addition, clients are integrated into the community by competitive employment placements. It provides permanent residential placement to more than 20 adults in its residential centers that includes the Alma House, David Gogian House and Hamilton House. It offers residential services, such as personal care, independent living skills training, social and community skills training and transportation for medical, recreational and personal needs. It receives funds and financial support from the California Department of Developmental Services through its Glendale Foundation for the Retarded.
