Not really suited for families

We went there for my daughter's birthday because we had a great time at the Fred's in Kihei, Maui. But when we got there, the music was too loud and we were suffocating from all the cigarette smokers around us. And the margaritas we ordered were like margarita flavored water in regular water glass. I was really getting disappointed at this point. The food we ordered were ok but not really tasty. As I mentioned, Fred's in Maui is way better!! But the one in Huntington Beach, we won't go there again. We recommend Fred's in Kihei, Maui.

Great Atmosphere but Below Average Food

I live near Fred's but don't frequent the establishment often as the food is not very good. The chips are great, but the salsa is like a bowl full of tomato paste sludge with not enough flavor. You can ask for spicy salsa and you get the same bowl of sludge but with a little kick. The beer specials are awesome and the decor and view from the balcony is incredible. I guess that is why the place gets packed, along with the easy on the eye waitresses. They need to use corn tortillas for the tacos, not flour and carne asada as opposed to sirloin steak. Tried the shrimp and that is just ok, a little too chewy. The burritos are filled with a funky rice, lettuce with some type of Ranch dressing, and tiny scraps of meat that resembled frayed edges of a burlap bag...think I counted 5 pieces in a huge carnitas burrito. I prefer Supermex hands down! The crazy thing is I have gone back, but it has been to meet friends. Maybe next time I will just order drinks and chips and bring my own salsa.

Love the fun atmosphere, a lot of the younger crowd hangs out there. The Taco Tuesdays are the best with the $2 tacos and a margarita!

I love sit out side and eat their chichen chickadieras and have a margarita with chips and salsa. It's the best place to hang out with a group of friends or a romantic date on the very end of the dock, just love it.
