Riley Hospital for Children is one of Indiana's only comprehensive children's hospitals, with pediatric specialists in every field of medicine and surgery. The hospital is a national leader in research and medical education. The hospital has more than 250-staffed beds and admits nearly 11,560 cases annually. Total outpatient visits are approximately 194,340 patients. It operates nearly 20 sites throughout Indiana and receives more than 1,400 air and ground transports from referring hospitals. Riley has a full-time staff of more than 2,050 professionals, with a medical staff of nearly 280 people. Programs and facilities include one of Indiana's first pediatric emergency departments and Level I pediatric trauma centers, a pediatric burn center, a neonatal unit, an autism treatment center, a pediatric dialysis program, a pediatric sleep disorders center and the Riley Heart Center, a pediatric inpatient unit for cardiovascular care.
