I've been going to La Baguette since I was in college. I love their service and friendly staff. I love their food. Great place. Do visit.

9/22/15 Dialed up my favorite bakery, La Baguette Bakery & Cafe, well known for their baked goods and food. Ordered the 12 inch Chocolate Mousse cake to be picked up on 9/25/15 after 6 pm. Paid by credit card. No problems. It's a great cake.



9/23/15 Noticed the regular charge of $48.71 for the cake on the account and then another charge of $64.95 from the bakery. I'm thinking they'll probably notice the extra charge and reverse it when they settle receipts to orders taken.



9/24/15 The $48.71 charge settles and the $68.95 is still in process. I'll talk to the bakery when I pick up the cake the next day.



9/25/15 I pick up the cake and show the manager the two charges to my account. Here is the response from the older lady whose usually there in the evenings.



"We have to ring up a whole sheet cake for the order." Still doesn't explain to me why there are two charges. I protest this and she just looks at me like I'm stupid. I then ask when do I get credit back for my $64.95? A younger employee responds, "It takes 72 hours for the bank charge to reverse." I then respond by saying to him I'm not paying for anything but the cake. It should be reversed immediately. Again, no response.



9/28/15 The $64.95 charge is still in process and I call and leave a message for the manager to call me back at 10 am when she arrives. Received a phone call that I believe was from the bakery while I was in a meeting. It was after 2 pm but no message was left.



9/29/15 the $64.95 charge is still in process. At this point, if I call the bakery, it wouldn't be pretty.



1. They should not have charged me for something I didn't purchase.

2. They lied about 72 hours to reverse the charge. I've made immediate refunds on credit card charges myself. They settle the same day.

The pastries and cakes remind me of those in France.
