Good Work!

As a general automotive repair shop, we've consulted with Tony at RAM Transmission on several occasions. We've always found him to be professional, helpful and honest; any work he's done for us has been fairly priced and done in a timely fashion. We would recommend RAM for your transmission needs.

Never again!!!!

Had a leaky tranny line on my 09 silverado, took it to rams. waited for a phone call i was supposed to receive for 2 hours. called them just to hear i had to wait another 45 mins for them to get the truck on the lift. But for sure he was gonna call me as soon as they discovered the issue, another 2 hours later i finally receive a call that they can fix the problem for $90 (hose clamp and trimming the line). i had the truck back for a week tops, and now it has 2 leaks! worse part is the leaks are on different spots of the tranny, judging by the workers in the place, i am confident they tampered with stuff they shouldnt have!! So I will never go back to this place or reccomend anyone to take their vehicles there, i dislike shady mechanics and think they should all be put out of business!

Ask lots of questions!!

I brought my truck in knowing that a noise was coming from the T-case, they told me what I already knew. They said they needed me to "authorize" them to take the T-case down. I did. Later that day they called and told me what was wrong and it was going to cost $2,000. They also recomended a havier duty chain because of the tires I am running. I called some old friends at the dealership I worked out, who work on MOPAR vehicle and their transmission guy said that my Tcase was more then big enough for my tires. I told RAM that I didn't want them todo the work because I could buy a new Tcase for $1500 and put it in. Then they told me that I still owed them $500 just to drop and check out was wrong out. They said that was what I "authorized" never once did they say anything about the charge. There is no hourly shop rate or a daignostic fee. Becuase I was out the $500 I had them do the work. They replaced my front drive line as well, and it's either out of timing or out of balance.

My Review

Had my truck towed to Ram Transmission's for free which was nice. The price and the time they took to fix it was fair, but I've had problems with my tranny since the repair and they can't find anything "wrong" with it. I've taken it there twice to only be told "we don't know what's wrong." Take the money and run is this place's motto.

unreliable quotes

I was given an estimate over the phone for my 1998 Saturn transmission repair of $1,700 to $2,200.00. Upon inspection of the car the estimate changed to $2,200.00 to $2,700.00. I agreed to repair in that price range. My bill for the repair was $3,079.85. When asked why the big price difference I was told that my car was hard to find parts for. When I asked why I was not told this before the repair I simply was told that that was the price for the repairs, and I should forget about it. Their attitude was that they were doing me a FAVOR by fixing my car. I would urge extreme caution in dealing with this company.

Unreliable quotes and pricing

I was given an estimate of $1,700.00 to $2,200.00 over the phone for the repair of the transmission in my 1998 Saturn car. Upon further inspection of the vehicle, I was told the repair costs would be $2,200.00 to $2,700.00. I agreed to the repair in that price range. The actual cost of the repair was $3,079.85- almost $400.00 more than the highest estimate I had been given. When I asked what the reason for the big difference was I was simply told that it was what it cost to fix the car and that's all there was to it. I was told the 1998 Saturn I drive was hard to find parts for, etc. I asked why I was not told about this before the repair. Their reply was the car was fixed and I should just forget about it. Their attitude seemed to be that they were doing me a FAVOR by fixing my car. I would urge extreme caution in dealing with this company.
