Established in 1985. Alexandria II is named after the ancient library of Alexandria in Egypt, which served as a learning center for over 600 years. We hope to honor its tradition by creating a place for people of all beliefs to learn and exchange ideas. Alexandria II first opened its doors in Pasadena on October 19th 1985. The original store was located on Colorado Blvd. near Rosemead Blvd. In August of 1988 the store was relocated to South Lake Avenue, near California Blvd. and remained in that location for 21 years. In July 2009 the store moved a few blocks north to its current location at 170 S Lake Avenue.
