I take my dog to Happy Tails at least once a month, and he loves it. I also use the grooming, so when he comes back home he's clean and beautiful. They've contacted me, to let me know that his appetite didn't seem normal, and let ne know that he seemed better the next day. I have had no problems whatsoever. Charlie is like my child, and I trust Happy Tails to take good care of him.

Do NOT even take your dog to an orientation at Happy Tails. They sat me down to fill out two legal pages of disclaimers requiring my signature. The young attendant asked if my little dog had any preexisting health issues. I told her that both rear legs had trick knees & she should be really careful to watch his back legs. When she led him off I noticed he was sliding on the floor & I reminded her of his back legs again. She came in before I had completed the paperwork & told me how well Daboo was doing with the other dogs. When I got down to the arena I was horrified at what I saw as the young girls were exclaiming, "Look how well Daboo is doing". My poor little dog was scooting around on his rump & pulling with his front legs. I could not believe that they didn't spot that he was injured! I screamed, "get him out of there". I grabbed my dog & rushed him to his vet. It was worse than I could ever have imagined. He had blown three disc's in his back. This could have been avoided if these young girls had received the proper training. It breaks my heart to see my little guy struggling to walk. My best friend will never be the same again. I'm writing this because I don't want this to happen to anyone else. It behooves me to even give this facility one star but it won't save this unless I do. Please make this a minus one star rating.

Do NOT take your dog to Happy ...

Do NOT take your dog to Happy Tails. It's taken me a very long time to suppress my anger in order to write reviews on this daycare. My little dog is my child, I love him more than anything. And I trusted Happy Tails. I took him there rarely but the last time I did, he was bit by another dog, suffered a broken leg because of their employees' negligence, and ended up having five surgeries by a top orthopedic vet specialist, ultimately losing his leg because it would not heal. We even got a second opinion from UC Davis. While my little one is even cuter than ever before, I will always have a memory of what he suffered because of this awful place. I am a physician and pride myself on taking the best care of those around me. Do the same for your pet and DO NOT TAKE THEM TO THIS DAYCARE.

Happy Tails has great outside ...

Happy Tails has great outside space but I was not impressed with the lack of staff interaction with the dogs and horrible inside space. I would like the company a lot more if the dogs had and indoor outdoor option and didn't have to be outside the entire day. The explanation given was the dogs usually prefer to be outside, but this past summer there were several days over 100 degrees and a few shade covers is not enough to keep the dogs cool. The staff member who gave the tour did not explain the process or the benefits of the business.

I would never use this place for boarding because the crate system is not safe. The crates I was shown are similar to the style used at home but they were stacked on top of each other. The only indoor space for bad weather is where the crates are stacked. There was no room for the dogs to play.

I would only recommend this company as a day care place on nice days.

Dogs are given the ability to come in or out when the temperatures are above 80 degrees and below 35 degrees. In between, the dogs all prefer to be outside. In the summer we provide large umbrellas which are not out in the winter. We do stack the crates to give the dogs plenty of room to play inside. We put the crates on the floor at night and do not " stack" the dogs in the crate. I wish the reviewer would have expressed her concerns so that we could properly explain our process. I am positive we could have influenced her to leave with a higher regard of Happy Tails!

I have done what you said, to ...

I have done what you said, to ask to see where my dog will be for the day. I watched him play for a few mintues. They know my baby's name by heart. Also they have courses for the dogs instead of toys, this is because you don't want dogs fighting over toys. Most dogs are like toddlers they don't understand the word share. If you have worked with dogs you should know this. My dog plays in the pool they have there and I have seen them bring dogs in while the weather is exterme.

the bats are not for fights. They were intended to create a distraction against the ground or fence. We agree that it looks bad and discontinued use of bats. Thanks but come see us again.
