I used to go in here all the time, haven't been in a while but went on Saturday 11/21 and it was disgusting. Way too much inventory, couldn't even hardly get a cart down the aisle for everything on the floor and in the way. Staff was not friendly and it smelled like cigarette smoke everywhere I walked, like someone was in front of me smoking on a cigarette. Had to wait 20 mins. to get into the dressing room with my daughter because no one is monitoring it and people were in there with armloads of clothes. I love this place at one time but I will never go back. Hoping the one in Ballwin is still good.

I took in 2 laundry baskets full of very nice clothes.. They took 2 outfits after about an hour of going threw my stuff.. It was a major waste of time and I will never step foot in this store again... They would not take an outfit that was purchased brand new from target with the tags still on it but they will buy your nasty stained up nike outfit from 1980..

I heard about Once Upon a Child and I was excited that they give you cash up front on your consignment items. I had two years worth of my daughters clothes to take. I have used consignment stores all of her life. I washed four loads of clothes to take. I went through them all very carefully. I knew that I would probably get some items back. I was shocked that I got more than two thirds of them back. Some of the rejected items had never been worn by my child. They accepted 24 items and the money they offered was garage sale prices. I have always gotten at LEAST 40% back. Also the service was terrible. I was told it would take 30 minutes for them to go through the clothes. It took almost an hour. The girl stood there and talked to the other employees the entire time. I don't believe the staff is experienced enough or mature enough to do this type of work. I wasn't shopping at the store since my daughter is older but I looked at some of the items and they seem to be over priced for a consignment store. I recommend that if you want to consign items that you find a smaller shop with a better staff and wait for money.
