Opioid use disorder is the clinical term for an addiction to heroin, prescription painkillers, or other opioids. MAT at San Diego CTC involves the use of a prescription medication such as buprenorphine, methadone, Suboxone, or naltrexone to help reduce the severity of opioid withdrawal symptoms and improve patient outcomes.
