Smurfit-Stone operates approximately 250 facilities located primarily in the United States, Canada and Mexico and employs roughly 35,000 people. The company was founded in 1968 and has its headquarters in Chicago. One of its plants is located at 13833 Freeway Drive, in Santa Fe Springs, Calif.
