You have saved my life... you are all in my heart and prayers, always. Welcome to Tampa Pain Clinic When you have chronic pain, it often seems as if pain is in control of your life. Worse yet, it is very difficult to find a good pain doctor. Many doctors are afraid to prescribe pain medication - even to legitimate patients - for fear that they will either be investigated or turn their patients into addicts. Although pain medication isn't always the solution, in many cases it is a necessary component of a comprehensive pain management program. This is especially true when combined with exercise, weight-management, and the use of muscle relaxants, neuropathic agents and/or NSAIDs. Many of the doctors who do prescribe pain medication either do so indiscriminately, often leading to their being closed down by the DEA, or alternatively, only do so when their patients consent to invasive procedures such as epidural steroid injections. We do not believe these injections are an efficacious method of treating chronic pain. There have been no well-controlled prospective randomized studies showing epidural steroids to be effective at relieving chronic pain for other than short periods of time. For this reason we do not recommend their use.
