Provided by YP.comWhen my kitty got very sick and was diagnosed with leukemia, we were made to believe he could be treated and return home. We kept him for there for 2 days and on the 3rd day a completely different doctor that we had never seen before told us there was no reason to hold on. He would be very sick up until he died and would likely not fully recover. He recommended putting him to sleep. This was news to us and we would have done it the first day rather than keep him in a strange place for nearly 3 days where he suffered and was poked and prodded. Not to mention the $2,000 bill we got for his hospitalization. I've told many people that story and every single one say the same thing: The vet would likely have known that very first day that no amount of treatment was going to help my kitty. He was extremely sick and obviously the disease was well advanced.
Even after all of that, nearly 2 years later I decided to take my other kitty in to get her vaccines and test for leukemia. We called to make an appointment and it was for later the same day, however my son was napping and the appointment was about the time he'd wake up. We asked if we could drop her off an hour and a 1/2 early and they said "Not an issue." So I asked a neighbor to keep an eye on my son while he napped and I put my kitty through the stress of taking her to the vet only to find out they wanted to charge me a $20 "day care fee" for dropping her off an hour and a 1/2 early. They obviously never mentioned this on the phone just minutes before I brought her in. I told them no thank you and walked out. The vaccines were way overpriced anyway, so I'll be taking my pets somewhere more honest and affordable.

Provided by YP.comI am so pleased with the service offered at Westchase Vet. I live in Saint Pete, and it is absolutely no problem to make the drive up to see our vet.
HALU is my new puppy, she was a rescue from Furever Yours. Westchase Vet was highly recommended and now I understand why.
We look forward to to our next visit and allowing our puppy HALU to grow up with those who offer their tender love and attention at Westchase Vet !!!

Provided by YP.comHORRIBLE! They LIE straight to your face about the cost! They told us the cost for one test would be $70 and then called a day later saying no its $130 and you have to pay it since you already authorized the test! I have never seen such dispicable practices - they should be out of business.

Provided by YP.comThat my dog loves her vets at Westchase, BUT I prepaid for a vaccine she needs and was told it "expired" and the Center would NOT be gving her the vaccine, that is paid for, because I cancelled an appointment previously with short notice. Not because I didn't show, because I had CANCELLED a previous appointment. Wow.

Provided by YP.comI cannot say enough great things about Westchase Veterinary Center! I recently went to the clinic with my hamster that I got for Valentines Day and Dr Reyes took great care of her! The doctor and staff were so helpful with all of my questions!
