I went here after a mechanic provided me a diagnostic code that solenoid A was bad and I asked Aamco how much to replace it and the filter, or to at least change the fluid. They said they would do a free diagnostic and call me. An hour later after no call I went back and they said the tranny was completely shot and needed to be pulled to be repaired and replacing the fluid would only make it worse. I called B.S. and found the part online for $75 and did it myself. NEVER go to Aamco!

I have used this shop for several of my commercial trucks, and my personal car as well. They have been up front, honest, and actually cheaper than anyone I have found. I have had a couple of situations where I was expecting bad news and they came back with minor repairs. They have earned my trust.

I am very happy with this Aamco, and trust the mechanics here. They are great with cars and treat ladies with respect and dignity. I just recently had a problem with my ac in my car and didn't know where to start, (this is a transmission place) they assured me they do just about everything, so I brought in my car and replaced a part for my air conditioner. I only had to wait a day for part, but they called me when they came in and finished my car with no problems. They also did not find a hundred things wrong with my car which is around 10 years old. (They do a free inspection of your vehicle and report any problems to you.) I will return to this shop if I ever need anything else done to my car. The service is less expensive than going to a dealership, and i believe the work quality is better.

Honest and fair. Took my truck here because my oil change place has been telling me my engine seals are wearing out. Told these guys I was expecting bad news, but they came back with minor repair while I waited. They have earned my trust. I will be taking all my vehicles here for everything including oil changes now.

Stay far away from this place....

Stay far away from this place. I brought my vehicle in as it was having major engine problems, bad knocking and stalling out. This is a really old and beat up vehicle and I was already shopping for a new car, and as such I let this place know up front that I was not willing to put over $1,000 worth of work into something I was about to replace. If the repairs would be a few hundred only then would it make sense. That was my first mistake, to be up front and honest with them in the hopes they would be the same.

I was given a first round of repairs estimate that was a little over $700. I asked again how confident they were this would cover the primary issues, and reiterated my unwillingness to put any more than that tops into this vehicle. Here the exchange got combative and defensive. They even accused me of trying to lure them into a trap. What? I'm just trying to get a thorough and honest assessment of what I'm looking at here. I should have walked away right then and there.

But, I let them do the repairs, which was replacing the Oxygen Sensors and a coil, and surprise, surprise, another $600+ worth of repairs would be needed. My vehicle had a clogged catalytic converter that was melting oxygen sensors, pretty bad damage, which all totaled would come out to around $1,400 worth of work, well over what I said up front would be past my willingness to invest. Here's the thing, I researched what would make an oxygen sensor melt (these things are metal) and consulted other mechanics. The issue is rare and the only thing that would have caused it is a bad catalytic convertor. I am entirely convinced this place knew I wouldn't pay for the full repairs, so they feigned ignorance of the total issue so as to at least put me on the hook for $700.

My wife went in and paid for the car because I was so irate that to have further personal contact with these people would come to no productive good. They tried to tell her that the vehicle without the work would overheat and possibly catch fire if we tried to drive it away. In truth, the vehicle made it several miles without so much as an engine light and ran smoother than it had in years. On top of that, the mechanic offered to have a "friend" take the damaged vehicle off our hands for us because it was a shame we weren't going to finish fixing it. I'm not even sure that is legal.

I'm sure the vehicle needs the work, but at every step I felt like I was taken for a ride and fed lines of untruths all along the way. My experience seems to mirror others as well, do yourself a favor, go find a AAA endorsed mechanic and steer clear of this place entirely.

In March I took my car to the Aamco on Cheney Hwy. in Titusville to have the throw-out bearing replaced. I was told by the asst. manager the cost of the repair would be $400.00. After the repair work was completed I was told the cost would be $625.00 and that if I did not pay my car would be kept until I did. They also damaged the outside drivers side door handle making it impossible to open from the outside. The car cannot be placed in first gear anymore either unless forced, this was not a problem before. I had to pay $72.00 to have the door handle replaced and two months later the gear shifter still has to be forced into first gear. I strongly suggest anyone seeking repair work for their auto pass up the crooks operating the Aamco on Cheney Hwy. in Titusville.

Steve and his boys are the best at fixing rear ends. My car shifts as smooth as a silky stocking. They really know how to please a man.
