The University Medical Center is a private, nonprofit hospital that is located at the Arizona Health Sciences Center, which is adjacent to the University of Arizona in Tucson in the state of Arizona. The Arizona Health Sciences Center includes the colleges of medicine, nursing, pharmacy and public health, as well as the staff of physicians from University Physicians Healthcare. The University Medical Center provides a variety of dialysis, emergency, pathology, pharmacy, and primary and respiratory care services for men, women and children. The center operates cancer, heart, pediatrics, transplant and trauma departments. The University Medical Center s Base Hospital is an advanced life support base hospital that is certified through the Arizona Department of Health Services and Bureau of Emergency Medical Services.
