General Info

Kindred Hospitals continue the care that short-term hospitals provide. We offer high quality post-acute hospital care to patients with medically complex conditions. These patients are critically ill and have few care options left; they come to us because they require aggressive, specialized care and a prolonged recovery time beyond their stay in a traditional short-term acute care hospital. Our patients have serious medical conditions, often many at the same time, requiring a coordinated, specialized approach, directed by physicians, to meet their daily medical needs

Horrible and Do Not Place Any Human Here

This place should be closed down. My father received horrible treatment, the physician was not aware of his condition worsening, as he did not monitor him and I got him out of there to a major hospital within hours or he would have died.

He was not terminally ill when he entered but within 10 days he was from a horrible contagious condition he contracted within Meadowbrook.

Do your research, this place has a high mortality rate and has been looked at being closed for the last several years.

If I could give no stars, I would. My family and I had a truly horrible experience with this facility for eight grueling days. My dog received better care at the end of her life in an animal hospital than my 69 year old grandmother received in this hospital. The only time we saw her nurses and doctors were when my grandfather went to hunt them down and begged them to assist my grandmother. While in their care my grandmother was ignored to the point of developing bed sores and blood clots. Not once did they try to get her up out of bed, even when she asked. They left a nasogastric tube down her nose for her entire stay that they never used. We ended up having to transfer her back to a hospital icu because they were giving her medications in incorrect doses causing serious injury to her health. I'm convinced she would have died had we left her there one more day.

My mother had been in ICU for a month. She could not walk and was on a ventilator. We choose post acute because of their reputation and becasue all the doctors highly recommended the facility.

She is home now and this is a direct reflection on the great staff and doctors at Post acute. This would be my choice for me or any of my family. Great job!!

I was placed here as a patient when I was 32 years old. Thou this hospital is known more for long term elder care it was wonderful for me. The nurse I had, Henry was amazing! As were all the other nurses there. I had one or two problems but they were addresses quickly and taken care of almost immediately. In a facility such as this it runs just like your typical large hospitals. One nurse gets x amount of patients to cover and sometimes that is not a quick process. The doctors I had always address the problems I had and pain management was wonderful. I would go back if I ever needed a long term care facility again... Hope that Henry is still working there!

My 24 years young son lost his...

My 24 years young son lost his life there after just 41/2 days stay (@ MeadowBrook). He was transfeered from St. Francis to be released within few days. He went from being talkative at 2:00 am--code blue went out shortly at 2;05 according to nurse, who went in to give him his meds.. Emsa was there at 2;14, was pronounced dead @ 3;04 at St. Francis. That's less than an hr. for all of this to happen. I'm still in daze about this.

Run, don't walk away from this...

Run, don't walk away from this place! We could NEVER get any information from anyone here. The doctor that is supposed to be there every day would never return a call and to top it off he allowed my relatives hand to become askemic and she almost lost it! To top it off when it came time to leave, they had no one that could use the lift and didn't know how to get her from the bed to a wheelchair. If you or your relative require feeding, or alot of attention, do NOT use this hospital. There were one or 2 great nurses and aids, but management seriously needs to overhaul things at this facility.

My husbands care

My husband had to go to a place where a registered nurse could administer his meds. Many nursing homes turned us down but Meadow Brook took us. For the 190 days we were there we could not have asked for better care. The only, and I mean only proble, we had was an older nurse did't click with my husbands personality. But she came in and did her job. Not very good bed side manners but the way I look at it was she did what she was supposed to. The best care and they even took care of me and my grand daughter who came with me most the time. Thank you Maedow Brook.
