Gilbreth, Ph.D. has over 15 years of Dog Training experience in topics ranging from Puppies to Basic Manners to Competitive Rally and Formal Obedience to Modification of Aggressive and Timid Behavior. Mary trains dogs Professionally and Full Time, dog training is not just a hobby or part-time endeavor. A specialist in Modification of Aggressive and/or Shy Behavior in dogs, Mary has over 15 years experience in this topic and knows which methods help - and which methods to avoid. Passionate about Learning and All Things Dog, Mary regularly attends a variety of Dog Training & Behavior seminars, workshops, and camps taught by internationally respected Dog Trainers and Authors, and has studied and trained her own dogs, in person, with many of the world's BEST Positive Reinforcement Dog & Animal Trainers. Great place to learn to train your dog by the reward, praise and clicker method and maintain your dogs trust without causing them to become stressed and fearful.
I worked with Mary Gilbreth in a private sessions. I had a terrified dog, that was scared of his own shadow and was afriad of me. Mary was a life saver for both me and my now 2 yr old yorkie Kenai. Without her patients and understanding of what Kenai was going through and how to train me on how to bring him out of his shell I don't know how we would have become the family that we are now.
SMART DOGS took me from having a "dog" to having a "best friend". In addition to mastering the basic obedience commands I learned to communicate, have fun, work as a team, and enjoy every minute with my Yellow Lab, Bella. We learned all this while being in a positive and dog friendly atmosphere.
We have been going to Smart Dogs Meetings with our Polish Sheepdog, Katja. It is a good way to get your dog used to being around other dogs and people in a controlled environment. There are courses set up that you and your dog complete that get you and your dog to work together as a team. It is based on reward - treat for good behavior. There is none of the choke collar or other punishing type of systems used. Mary Gilbreth does a great job teaching the humans how to train their dogs. We love taking our dog to these training sessions and highly recommend it as something every dog owner should do. Pam and Bill
